What is an end of life plan?

An end of life plan is a personal document that records your wishes for when you’re no longer able to communicate them yourself. It goes beyond a will, covering the practical, the meaningful and the deeply personal. Where you’d like your ashes scattered. The music you’d want played. Who you’d like in the room.

At Tomorrow Funerals, we’ve found that having these things written down means the people you love don’t have to guess, and can focus on being present rather than making difficult decisions under pressure.

Why bother?

Getting Your affairs in order used to mean just sorting your will.

But when planning a meaningful farewell, your family and friends might appreciate some of your own input. Here at Tomorrow Funerals, we’ve noticed that making decisions during grief can be very difficult. Whether you wanted lilies or sunflowers, prefer a quiet gathering at home or a big party at your favourite pub.

This document gives them the answers, without the guesswork.

And honestly? Most people tell us filling it in is surprisingly enjoyable. A little confronting, yes. But also kind of wonderful.

When planning a funeral it can feel so much easier if some guidance has been left behind.

What’s inside

Real questions.
Beautifully Personal answers.

We’ve kept it real, kept it human and made sure it covers the things that actually matter, including the parts that are easy to overlook but mean everything on the day.

Cremation wishes

From clothing and jewellery to ashes, urns and scattering locations, recorded exactly as you’d want.

Your celebration

What to call it, where to hold it, who speaks, what’s played and what the vibe should be. Funeral, memorial, roast; your call.

The guest list

Who you’d love in the room, how many people and any specific wishes about who shows up, or doesn’t.

Food, music & atmosphere

Your signature dish, the song you don’t want played and the atmosphere you’d love created. The details that make it you.

Financial arrangements

Pre-paid funeral details, funeral bonds and your will, all in one tidy place for the people who need to know.

Your life story

Lessons, loves, proudest moments and a message to leave the world. Because every story deserves to be told in just the right way.

This isn’t morbid.
It’s a Gift.

At Tomorrow, we’ve spent years helping families navigate one of life’s most difficult moments. The families who find it a little easier are almost always the ones who had some guidance to hold onto.

This document won’t cover everything. You’ll still want a will, an advanced care directive and a conversation or two with the people you love. But it’s a genuinely great place to start, and we think you might surprise yourself with what comes up when you sit down and actually think about it.

Good luck. Have fun with it.

A few things
people often Ask us.

There’s no single right answer, but a good end of life plan covers both the practical and the personal. Think scattering of ashes, song choices, quirky rituals, financial arrangements, the kind of farewell you’d like and any details that would help your family and friends feel guided rather than guessing. Our free document walks you through all of it, one question at a time.

No. A will is a legal document dealing with your estate and assets. An end of life wishes document is more personal. It captures the things a will doesn’t; your farewell preferences, the atmosphere you’d like created, who you’d want present and the words you’d like left behind. The two documents complement each other well.

Not at all. Our end of life wishes document is not a legal instrument; it’s a personal record of your preferences. You can complete it yourself, at your own pace, with no legal expertise required. We’d always recommend having a separate will prepared with a solicitor, but this document is entirely yours to fill in.

At minimum, the person or people most likely to be making decisions on your behalf; a partner, adult child or close friend. You might also consider letting your GP know it exists, and keeping a copy somewhere accessible alongside your will. The more people who know about it, the more useful it becomes.

Absolutely. Your wishes may change over time, and that’s completely normal. We’d suggest revisiting your document every few years, or after any significant life event. Simply download a fresh copy, update your answers and let the relevant people know.
