2. Captain Melville

3. St Kilda RSL
With 100 years of history and a recent interior design update is a fantastic, local place to remember the life of someone you love. Whether they are a returned service person or not, St Kilda is an iconic location for most Melbourne residents. This beautifully restored 1920’s church has different spaces like a large auditorium and multiple smaller rooms. It offers a blank canvas and is perfect for a sit down memorial with video and speeches.

A modern venue with incredible flair! Rupert’s impeccably styled interior is ‘stand-out’ – think quirky vintage furniture, lush indoor plants & stunning oversized floral wallpaper.

7. The MCG
Why not? After all, footy & Melbourne go together like pie & sauce. And let’s face it for some Melbournians, AFL is a religion! We will help you organise a room at the MCG overlooking the goal posts for the perfect memorial style funeral.
8. Your local bowls or sports club
Often local community clubs offer great deals on room hire mid-week and have great facilities. They might even let you self-cater.
We love the story of Win’s yacht club memorial funeral, which was held at the Beaumaris Motor Yacht Squadron. When it comes to yacht clubs, there is a large selection of great bayside options. In fact, BMYS has lovely views, is reasonably priced and has AV set up too. Easy parking is another advantage.
We’ve recently been a part of some wonderful memorials at both the Melbourne Bowling Club, Elwood Bowling Club and Footscray Bowls Club.
And if you’re looking for something really impressive, Kooyong Tennis Club has a number of wonderful event spaces overlooking their magnificent lawn tennis courts.
Local sports clubs like Black Rock Sports Club are charming and have great facilities too.
9. ACMI Federation Square
Host your memorial event at one of Melbourne’s most iconic, cultural centres in the heart of Fed Square. ACMI has a range of spaces and can design a menu from canapes and dishes crafted by award winning chef, Karen Martini and curated beverages by Philip Rich.
10. Stomping Ground – beer hall
A brand new, industrial style event space, Stomping Ground Moorabbin & Collingwood is a unique choice but ticks all the boxes in terms of excellent catering, great facilities, whilst being warm, inviting and striking! Plus they brew their own beer and pride themselves on having something for everyone. In a nuthell, their private function room is super impressive!
11. Montsalvat
Australia’s oldest continuously active artists’ community is a truly magical place to hold a memorial. From the fairy tale Bluestone Chapel to a number of galleries and lovingly tended garden, this is a place of curiosity and peace.
12. Wattle Park Chalet
A peaceful memorial could be held in this heritage listed chalet, all within the beautiful setting of Wattle Park. There are a number of spaces with AV facilities and the venue can accomodate with a number of different packages.
13. The Auburn Hotel
Located in Hawthorn, the Auburn Hotel is an iconic pub and function venue offering a warm and friendly atmosphere with loads of history.
