The first sign of a great memorial service is feeling that it represents the person you’re farewelling. This isn’t something that can be achieved with a one-size-fits-all event in an unfamiliar room.
At Tomorrow Funerals, we plan celebrant-led memorials shaped around your person’s story. We’ve ditched the fixed-format, generic venue approach to memorials. We’ve kept it personal, and designed to honour the life you’re celebrating.
We’re here whenever you’re ready
A memorial service is a ceremony held to honour someone after they’ve died. The key difference between a memorial and a traditional funeral is freedom of venue. Without a coffin in the room, you’re no longer tied to a funeral parlour or chapel. A memorial can be held anywhere that feels right. A rooftop bar, a favourite beach, a restaurant, a garden, a sports club, or anywhere else that genuinely reflects who they were.
That freedom extends to everything else, too. At Tomorrow, our memorials are celebrant-led, completely customisable, and built around the person you’re bidding farewell to. Whether it’s a small, intimate gathering or a grand celebration of life, we know how to make it happen.
The ballpark figure for a funeral in Australia is around $11,000. But this number often balloons significantly, given the fact that most funeral companies offer only their basic package up front, with all the things that actually make a nice funeral being added as extras later. This is what leads to $20,000 or $30,000 funerals.
At Tomorrow Funerals, we keep things refreshingly simple. Our memorial only package is $3,600, while our complete package is $7,200 and includes everything you need: the direct cremation, all paperwork, a celebrant-led memorial, a tribute video, a personal memorial website, and more. One flat fee. No itemised extras. No surprise costs.
If you’d like to bring in catering, florals or live music for the memorial itself, you’re welcome to. We’ll help you pull it together within whatever budget feels right for your family.

We believe a memorial should reflect the person you’re farewelling, and you can only achieve that by doing things on your terms.
Your timing. With the cremation taken care of, there’s no rush. Plan the memorial for next week, next month, or whenever the people you love can be in the same place.
Your venue. Memorials don’t belong in chapels by default. We’ll help you find (or make use of) a place that actually means something to your loved one. For example, that could be:
Your celebrant. We’ll match you with an experienced celebrant who’ll plan, write and lead the day. They become your main point of contact through the whole process. They’ll listen to your stories, gently guiding you, and helping bring it all together.
Looking for more than just the memorial side of things? Our Full Package takes care of everything from the cremation, transfers and paperwork through to the celebrant-led memorial itself. One flat fee of $7,200. Everything included. Nothing left for you to chase down.
We believe a really personal farewell can play a vital role in the healing process.
Yep, this is the whole kit and kaboodle!

Everything you need to know
Anywhere that feels right. Tomorrow has a number of partner venues — restaurants and function spaces that host events at no hire charge — but families are equally welcome to choose their own venue, hold the service at home, or gather somewhere that meant something to their person.
Your dedicated celebrant. They’ll get to know you and your person before helping you shape the service — the tone, the stories, the flow of the day. They write it with you, and they lead it on the day.
Completely. There’s no template to follow. Families have held memorials at their person’s favourite restaurant, in parks, on beaches, and at home. The format, tone and feel are entirely yours — our celebrant’s job is to help bring what you have in mind to life.
A traditional funeral typically centres around the coffin and follows a set format — often in a chapel, often within a tight timeframe. A memorial with Tomorrow happens after the cremation, which means no time pressure, no coffin present, and no limitations on where or how you gather. It can be as intimate or as large as you like.
It’s a private, personalised website created for your person — a place to share the memorial details, post photos and stories, and keep a lasting tribute online. It includes a guestbook so family and friends anywhere in the world can leave messages. You can see an example at tomorrowfunerals.com.au/david-bowie.
There’s no rush — that’s one of the real advantages of direct cremation. Some families move quickly and hold the memorial within a few weeks. Others take a little longer. Your celebrant works to your timeline, not the other way around.
Not sure which option is right for you? We’re here to help you figure it out — no pressure, no rush, just care.
