Memorial services move away from the fixed structure of a traditional funeral (eulogies, burial or cremation, wake), placing more focus on celebration than mourning. They can take place weeks or months after a death, and the body is not usually present.
At Tomorrow Funerals, we work with you to shape each service around the person being remembered, guided by an independent celebrant rather than a set order of proceedings.

When you book with Tomorrow Funerals, it doesn’t matter whether you wish to hold a service shortly after your loved one has passed or months later, or whether you want a religious or secular service. We will assign an appropriate celebrant based entirely on your guidance and vision for the day.
We give you full freedom to choose a venue that reflects the life of the person you’re celebrating. If a chapel or funeral home doesn’t feel right, you have any number of scenic, evocative and personal locations to choose from.
Some possible venues include:
Beaches – Cottesloe, Scarborough, or City Beach for a service by the water
Parks and gardens – Kings Park, South Perth Foreshore, or a favourite local reserve
Restaurants and cafés – a beloved venue, set up for a relaxed gathering

Where can we hold the memorial in Perth?
Anywhere across Perth that feels right. Tomorrow has a number of partner venues in and around the city — restaurants and function spaces that host events at no hire charge — but families are equally welcome to choose their own venue, hold the service at home, or gather somewhere in Perth that meant something to their person.
Who plans and runs the memorial?
Your dedicated celebrant. They’ll get to know you and your person before helping you shape the service — the tone, the stories, the flow of the day. They write it with you, and they lead it on the day.
How personal can the memorial actually be?
Completely. There’s no template to follow. Families have held memorials at their person’s favourite restaurant, in parks, on beaches, and at home. The format, tone and feel are entirely yours — our celebrant’s job is to help bring what you have in mind to life.
What’s the difference between a memorial and a traditional funeral?
A traditional funeral typically centres around the coffin and follows a set format — often in a chapel, often within a tight timeframe. A memorial with Tomorrow happens after the cremation, which means no time pressure, no coffin present, and no limitations on where or how you gather. It can be as intimate or as large as you like.
What is the memorial website that comes with the package?
It’s a private, personalised website created for your person — a place to share the memorial details, post photos and stories, and keep a lasting tribute online. How far in advance do we need to plan the memorial?
There’s no rush — that’s one of the real advantages of direct cremation. Some Melbourne families move quickly and hold the memorial within a few weeks. Others take a little longer. Your celebrant works to your timeline, not the other way around.
From the very first conversation, Kate made me feel at ease and the way she conducted the celebration of life was perfect and reflected us brilliantly.
She went above and beyond to make things as easy as possible for me and even met with the venue on my behalf while I was evacuated from the bush fires, which took so much stress of me.
They were incredibly patient with me when it came to finalising my tribute photos and the design elements that they created for me, especially the tribute video was amazing!
